The headlock is one of the most common techniques used in altercations, especially by males. It is the preferred technique of the untrained individual -- and remember everyone is untrained until they take the initiative and seek out training. Even an untrained person can do a lot of damage with a headlock so learning to defend against them is a critical self-defense skill to have.
